Final Meeting - public session (hybrid event) | July 1, 2022

On the 1st of July 2022, the ViViDo project team – Management Platform of the National Support Network for Victims of Domestic Violence – promoted a public session with the main objective of publicizing the ViViDo platform with RNAVVD, at Palácio Sotto Mayor, in Lisbon.

ViViDo's objective is to manage confidential information about victims of violence. Having as requirements the guidelines for preserving the security of data on victims, in the construction of the platform that was presented, contributions on ethics, principles, standards, procedures, concepts and risks to be taken into account were privileged.

The platform itself is the purpose/result of the ViViDo project, enabling the country with a management tool and related, in-depth, systematic, up-to-date knowledge of the national panorama on domestic and gender-based violence.

The session, which took place in a hybrid format, registered 202 people registered, of which about 50 attended in person and 116 online, with the possibility of participating in the event through questions and comments in the platform chat, to be answered later by the project team.

The opening session included interventions by the Secretary of State for Equality and Migration, Dr. Isabel Almeida Rodrigues, who reaffirmed the State's commitment to the victims until today; as well as interventions by those responsible for the ViViDo project, Professor Margarida Queirós (IGOT-UL), project coordinator; Professor José Luís Zêzere (Director of CEG, IGOT-UL); and Professor Manuel Lisboa (NOVA FCSH).

The presentation of the already developed version of the ViViDo Platform was in charge of Dr. Sandra Loureiro (AMBISIG) who demonstrated the operation of several functionalities of the platform and simulated online, by way of example, the completion of a part of the forms that make up the single form of service (Order nº5374/2020), now transposed to digital media. The Norwegian partner, Stein Runar Bergheim (AVINET), highlighted the advantages brought by the platform, but also the need to ensure the security of digital systems, a topic also addressed by Dr. Tiago Abade (CCR Legal) who stressed that the platform corresponds to a legal imperative which results from legislation approved by the Assembly of the Republic, and the data to be collected and processed, in their diversity and quantity, are those required by law.

After the presentation of the communication and dissemination activities developed in the last two years, by Tiago Mindrico and Beatriz Carolino (in charge of Communication of the ViViDo project), two other products of the project were presented: the Video “As vozes da Rede”, explained by the team video composed by Andres Azzolina, Felipe Salazar and Renata Torralba, and the webdocumentary “Feel(in) the Fields”, presented by Andreia Batista.[1]

In the closing session, Dr. Sandra Ribeiro (Chairman of the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality) highlighted the project and, in particular, the ViViDo platform, as it means "an important qualitative leap" in the capacity and efficiency of the CIG in fulfilling its mission.

[1] The ViViDo platform, the main product of the project, is a closed product, intended exclusively for RNAVVD and is accompanied by these open products, of communication/awareness to a general public, drawing attention to the issue of violence in Portuguese society. The webdocumentary and the video/animation are 2 complementary products to the ViViDo project that aim to disseminate/raise awareness on the topic of domestic and gender violence to a wide audience and constitute a benefit of the ViViDo Project. The Webdocumentary focuses on real (tragic) accounts of victims who were willing to give their testimony about their situation. Video/animation focuses on TAV and its mission (volunteers from RNAVVD cooperated in it).
